Dream Sharing
-
The film Inception uses the concept of dreams within a dream. During the original dream, the participants can go to sleep and enter another dream (
or level) with a new plot and new characters. This is actually a relatively common occurrence for many real world dreamers.
When learning to lucid dream, this can happen quite frequently. A dreamer can get excited when becoming lucid and be jolted into “waking up”
to another dream which he or she is convinced is reality. This experience is called a “false awakening”.
They can be very vivid and very convincing to the dreamer, who assumes that he or she is actually awake.
If you are attempting to lucid dream and find yourself in this situation, you can do a
reality test
to help determine if you are actually still asleep.
Additionally, lucid dreamers can also choose to go to sleep in a dream intentionally to see what happens. This can be a great experiment for lucid dreamers.
